Addressing newly elected PML-N parliamentarians in Lahore, former prime minister Nawaz Sharif said Pakistan’s crises stem not only from PTI founder Imran Khan but also from those who “brought him to power.” He argued the previous government pushed the economy and diplomacy to the brink and fostered a culture of indecency.
Sharif praised Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz for stabilising the economy and reducing inflation, claiming the country has begun to recover. He also criticised PTI’s approach to the recent by-elections, questioning its boycott claims as party figures still ran in multiple constituencies.
The PML-N’s by-poll performance, he said, reflected voter support for the federal and provincial governments’ service agenda, while vowing accountability for those he deems responsible for the country’s setbacks.
