Gold prices in Pakistan jumped to fresh all-time highs, with the rate of 24-karat gold rising by Rs5,100 per tola to Rs398,800 on Tuesday, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs4,372 to Rs341,906, tracking a sharp uptrend in global markets. Internationally, spot gold climbed by $51 to reach $3,770 per ounce.
Silver also extended gains. A tola of 24-karat silver rose by Rs42 to Rs4,637, while 10 grams of 24-karat silver were quoted at Rs3,975. Dealers attributed the rally to persistent global demand for safe-haven assets and a weaker outlook for interest rates, alongside rupee dynamics that continue to influence domestic bullion pricing.
Bullion traders said volatility could remain elevated as international cues and local currency movements steer sentiment. The latest spike places the key Rs400,000 per tola milestone within touching distance, raising concerns about affordability for small buyers and jewelers’ working capital needs ahead of the wedding season.
