ISLAMABAD: The federal government has said it will keep gas available for consumers during Sehri and Iftar hours throughout Ramadan.
Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, speaking alongside Power Minister Awais Leghari, stated that gas would be maintained at maximum pressure from 3:00am to 10:30pm during the fasting month. He added that extra volumes have been arranged to support the plan.
To handle complaints and monitor supply—particularly in low-pressure and tail-end areas—the government said “situation rooms” have been set up at the head offices of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) and Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC), with regional offices directed to keep close watch on distribution.
On the electricity side, Power Minister Awais Leghari said no load-shedding would take place during Sehri and Iftar on the prime minister’s instructions. He said supply would remain uninterrupted even in high-loss or technically sensitive areas during these hours, and that any major technical fault would be addressed immediately.
Leghari said a dedicated control room has been established to monitor feeders nationwide and urged the public to lodge complaints through the relevant helpline if they face outages.
