One Counter-Terrorism Department official was martyred and two others injured after stored explosives detonated at a CTD police station in Peshawar, according to police. Initial assessments by the city's police chief suggested a short circuit triggered the blast in the armoury, where old explosive materials were kept.

Authorities said the blaze spread within the depot, causing secondary explosions and a partial collapse of the building. Detainees were evacuated and the area cordoned off as Bomb Disposal Unit, Rescue 1122, and fire brigade teams carried out clearance and firefighting operations.

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa inspector general of police sought a detailed report within five days, while a special CTD team and forensic experts examined debris and CCTV footage to determine the sequence of events.
