Karachi rain likely on Sept 30 as temperatures climb: PMD

The Pakistan Meteorological Department forecast light to moderate rain in parts of Karachi on September 30, with the city’s temperature expected to rise to about 36°C on Sunday and up to 38°C on Monday. Strong winds and showers are also likely across several Sindh districts from September 29, including Tharparkar, Umerkot, Badin, Sujawal and Thatta, with isolated rainfall possible in Jamshoro, Matiari, Mirpurkhas and Sanghar. The advisory follows intermittent showers earlier this month and recalls heavy rainfall from September 8 to 10 that inundated low-lying areas, overflowed rivers and forced evacuations in parts of the metropolis. Authorities reported multiple rain-related incidents during that spell. The PMD attributed earlier precipitation to moist winds and sea clouds moving in from the Arabian Sea.
