Two Militants Killed in Turbat Intelligence-Based Security Operation

Security forces killed two militants during an intelligence-based operation in the Jusk area of Turbat, Balochistan, on Wednesday as counterterrorism activity continued under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3. Security sources said the operation was launched after information was received about the presence of suspected militants in the area.

According to the security account, troops moved into the identified location and an exchange of fire followed. Two militants were killed during the confrontation. Security sources described the men as being associated with Fitna al-Hindustan, a designation Pakistani authorities use for militant elements they accuse of operating with external backing.

The operation did not end with the initial exchange of fire. Security personnel began pursuing other suspected militants who were reported to have fled the area, while search, clearance and sanitisation activities continued in and around the operation site. No casualties among security personnel were reported in the initial information released about the action.

The Turbat operation forms part of a wider series of security actions underway across Balochistan. Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3 has involved intelligence-led raids and other counterterrorism measures in several districts as security forces seek to locate militant networks, disrupt planned attacks and recover weapons and ammunition.

Recent operations have also taken place in Panjgur, Kachhi, Awaran and areas near Kalat. In one earlier action in Panjgur and Kachhi, security sources reported that seven militants were killed. Separate operations in the province have resulted in further militant casualties as authorities intensified their campaign against armed groups operating in Balochistan.

Security forces also recently responded to militant activity near the N-25 highway close to Kalat. The military said five militants were killed and 23 people being held by the attackers were recovered safely. Vehicles, weapons, ammunition and explosives were also recovered during that operation, highlighting the continuing security challenge along important transport routes in the province.

Balochistan remains a major focus of Pakistan's counterterrorism efforts because militant violence can affect local communities, security personnel, transport links and economic activity. Intelligence-based operations are intended to target identified militant positions while follow-up clearance activity is used to determine whether additional fighters, weapons or other material remain in the surrounding area.

Security sources said operations would continue against militant elements, while forces in Turbat were still pursuing those who escaped during Wednesday's action. The immediate next phase is expected to centre on completing the search and sanitisation process in the Jusk area and assessing whether further operations are required on the basis of intelligence gathered during the raid.
