PESHAWAR: Pakistan’s Ruet-e-Hilal Committee has confirmed the start of Ramadan 2026 after verifying moon-sighting testimonies and reviewing reports received from different parts of the country.
The central meeting was held in Peshawar under the chairmanship of Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad, while zonal committees convened in their respective regions to collect and forward local observations.
Following the assessment of submissions and supporting information, the committee announced that the Ramadan crescent had been sighted and declared that the holy month will begin on Thursday across Pakistan.
