KARACHI: A multi-vehicle crash involving an oil tanker, a passenger bus and other vehicles on the M9 Motorway near Kathore left at least 13 people dead and several injured, police said on Friday.
Officials said the bus was travelling on the wrong side of the road when the collision occurred. Rescue personnel reported that women and children were among those who lost their lives.
Due to the force of the impact, several passengers were thrown from a bridge, rescuers added. The injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for treatment.
Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho directed police teams to reach the site immediately and ordered security cordons in and around the area to support rescue operations and allow investigators to work.
