Earthquake tremors were felt in multiple districts of Sindh and Balochistan, according to the Seismic Monitoring Centre of the Pakistan Meteorological Department.
Residents reported shaking in areas including Sukkur, Jacobabad, Khuzdar, Jhal Magsi, Dadu, Naseerabad and nearby localities. In Khuzdar, tremors were recorded twice in the late morning, with the second event measuring 5.6 in magnitude. Authorities said the epicentre was located around 86 kilometres northeast of Khuzdar.
Officials said no loss of life or property damage was reported.
The report also noted Pakistan’s exposure to seismic activity due to its position along major tectonic plate boundaries and highlighted the importance of preparedness in earthquake-prone regions.
