ISLAMABAD: Kyrgyzstan’s President Sadyr Zhaparov arrived in Islamabad for a two-day state visit, the first by a Kyrgyz head of state to Pakistan since 2005. President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif received him with a guard of honour and a 21-gun salute.
The itinerary includes meetings with Pakistan’s leadership and an address at the Pakistan-Kyrgyzstan Business Forum. Both sides aim to deepen cooperation in trade, energy, defence, education, people-to-people links, and regional connectivity.
The Foreign Office said talks would explore new avenues for partnership as the countries seek to broaden ties across strategic and commercial domains.
