- The military reported seven militants killed in two operations in North Waziristan, with weapons seized and follow-up searches under ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ continuing amid a broader uptick in violence.
Security forces killed seven militants in two intelligence-based operations in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s North Waziristan, the military’s media wing said. Six were shot dead in Mir Ali and one in the Spinwam area after exchanges of fire.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered at both sites. The forces said sanitisation would continue as part of the counterterrorism drive under the ‘Azm-e-Istehkam’ framework.
Authorities note a sustained rise in attacks since 2021, particularly in KP and Balochistan, with police and civilians bearing the brunt. Officials reiterated that operations will persist until the threat is neutralised.
