The Sindh government instructed civil servants using official vehicles to settle their traffic e-chalan fines from personal funds after a rise in violations recorded under Karachi’s Traffic Regulation and Citation System.
A notification circulated to senior provincial departments and commissioners cited frequent offences — including unfastened seatbelts, tinted windows, red-light jumping and mobile phone use while driving — and directed strict compliance with the policy.
Officials also announced new speed-limit signs on Sharea Faisal: 60 km/h for cars and motorcycles and 30 km/h for heavy vehicles. Violations will be detected by cameras and processed automatically as part of the expanding e-chalan system.
