Chappell Roan to induct Cyndi Lauper into Rock Hall on Nov 8

Singer-songwriter Chappell Roan will induct pop icon Cyndi Lauper into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame at the 40th annual ceremony on November 8. Roan shared the news in a video message, crediting Lauper’s fashion, artistry and music as formative influences and recalling that she auditioned as a teenager with Lauper’s classic “True Colors.” Lauper has earned multiple top accolades across her career, including Grammy and Billboard Music awards, and has long been celebrated for boundary-pushing style and genre-spanning hits. In a previous interview, Lauper praised Roan’s rising profile and distinctive sound. The Rock Hall said The Killers have joined the roster of presenters and performers, which already includes stars such as Olivia Rodrigo, Doja Cat and Elton John. Additional appearances are slated from Beck, David Letterman, Flea, Iggy Pop, J.I.D, Killer Mike, Maxwell, Questlove, Raye, Sleepy Brown, Teddy Swims, Twenty One Pilots and Taylor Momsen, with the event set to take place in Los Angeles.
