Derek Hough shuts down Ryan Seacrest’s ‘Wheel of Fortune’ tale

Derek Hough pushed back at a claim by Ryan Seacrest that he had jumped on the Wheel of Fortune set during a commercial break of Celebrity Wheel of Fortune. Posting to Instagram Stories, the Dancing with the Stars judge said the story was not true and added that he would never disrespect the set, even if the image of being spun like a cake ornament sounded funny.

Seacrest had described the alleged moment in an interview earlier this week. Hough clarified that the only time he left his mark on the stage was when he celebrated winning $63,350 for Feeding America — and even then it was on the podium, not the iconic wheel itself. The episode also featured Bruno Tonioli and Jenna Johnson Chmerkovskiy. Hough and Seacrest share a bit of history as the host previously dated Hough’s sister, Julianne, from 2010 to 2013.
