Sindh home minister quashes rumours of TLP protests in Karachi

Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar urged residents to ignore social-media chatter about fresh unrest in Karachi, saying the city remained calm and that law enforcers were fully deployed. He warned that action would be taken against those spreading provocative or false content intended to create panic.

Officials said rumours of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan sit-ins and road blockades were unfounded, though some neighbourhood shops briefly shuttered due to anxiety. Police and traffic authorities were ordered to stay vigilant at key intersections, keep anti-riot units on standby and ensure the uninterrupted flow of vehicles across the metropolis.

Lanjar reiterated that the writ of the state would be upheld and that Section 144 would be enforced against any attempt to disturb order. Karachi police echoed the message, stressing no demonstrations were underway and that overall conditions were normal.
