Religious Scholar Maulana Idrees Killed In Charsadda Gun Attack

CHARSADDA: Prominent religious scholar Maulana Muhammad Idrees Tarangzai was killed on Tuesday morning when unidentified armed men opened fire on his vehicle in the Utmanzai area of Charsadda. The attack, reported by 24NewsHD, also left two police constables critically injured, turning the incident into one of the day’s most alarming security developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

According to initial police information, the assailants targeted the vehicle carrying Sheikhul Hadith Maulana Idrees Tarangzai and escaped soon after the shooting. The injured police personnel, who were reportedly on duty at the time, were shifted to a nearby medical facility where their condition remained serious.

A hospital in Charsadda later confirmed the death of the religious scholar. The attack triggered panic in the area as residents, bystanders and security personnel gathered near the scene while investigators began examining the route, vehicle damage and possible movement of the attackers.

Police officials said the attackers fled before they could be intercepted.
