The Pakistani rupee continued its upward trend on Monday, closing stronger against the US dollar for the 120th straight session. According to ProPakistani, the local currency ended at 279.30 per dollar, gaining one paisa on the day.

The report said the rupee also improved against several other major currencies. It appreciated notably against the British pound and posted gains against the Australian and Canadian dollars, while remaining broadly stable against the Saudi riyal and UAE dirham.

ProPakistani linked the market mood to broader confidence among traders, even as the regional oil crisis and uncertainty around Gulf shipping routes remain a risk for import-reliant economies such as Pakistan. The movement suggests that, for now, currency traders still expect short-term resilience in the rupee.
