Pakistan’s stock market started the week under heavy pressure as the benchmark KSE-100 index tumbled by more than 15,000 points, reflecting broad risk aversion amid escalating geopolitical uncertainty linked to the US-Iran conflict.

By midday trading, the KSE-100 had slipped to 152,991.15 points, down 15,071.01 points — a fall of 8.97% — compared with the previous close of 168,062.16.

Market participants pointed to widespread panic selling and leveraged positions being unwound, which amplified the decline. Topline Securities CEO Mohammed Sohail said the sharp drop was driven by fear-led liquidation, adding that uncertainty in the region further worsened sentiment.
