Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has approved an electric bus project for public transport on Peshawar’s Ring Road for inclusion in the province’s Annual Development Program (ADP) 2026–27.

The decision was made during a consultative meeting at Pakhtunkhwa House in Islamabad with lawmakers from the Peshawar region, where development priorities for the upcoming ADP were reviewed.

Alongside the electric bus initiative, the meeting also approved adding a new general hospital project for Peshawar, with instructions to fast-track implementation to address rising healthcare demand in the provincial capital.

The chief minister further approved a feasibility study for a second Ring Road to help manage increasing traffic pressure, and asked parliamentarians to submit constituency-based proposals by mid-March for consideration, stressing that projects should be selected based on public need and measurable impact.

Officials said the forthcoming ADP will be aligned with provincial requirements and focus on completing ongoing schemes on time.
