Federal Minister for Power Awais Leghari has directed power companies to ensure uninterrupted electricity during Sehr and Iftar throughout Ramadan, according to the report.
The Power Division issued SOPs for distribution companies and K-Electric, instructing them to prioritize continuity during peak Ramadan hours. The minister also directed DISCO leadership to handle consumer complaints promptly and to establish dedicated control rooms for monitoring and coordination.
The plan links load management to high-loss areas under the ongoing anti-power theft drive, but the instructions emphasize that any load adjustments in such areas should be scheduled outside Sehr and Iftar.
Officials said the approach is also intended to limit additional arrears and reduce financial losses in the power sector during Ramadan.
