ISLAMABAD: The federal government has raised petroleum prices for the next fortnight, increasing petrol by Rs5 per litre and high-speed diesel by Rs7.32 per litre.
Following the revision, petrol is now priced at Rs258.17 per litre, up from Rs253.17, while high-speed diesel has been increased to Rs275.70 per litre from Rs268.38.
The Petroleum Division said the updated rates took effect from February 16 and will remain in force for the upcoming fortnight.
Officials noted that petrol price changes tend to hit household budgets directly because it is widely used by commuters, including two-wheelers and rickshaws. Diesel, meanwhile, is heavily used in freight transport and agriculture, which can feed into broader inflation through higher logistics and food costs.
