Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar announced that Pakistan will share with Egypt a vetted ‘white list’ of 250 companies to accelerate bilateral trade, with a second tranche of 250 firms to follow within six months.
Speaking alongside Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in Islamabad, Dar said the two countries would set up a Pakistan–Egypt Business Council and reconvene the long-dormant Joint Ministerial Commission in 2026 to institutionalise cooperation.
The trade initiative is aimed at improving market access and smoothing regulatory pathways across priority sectors. Cairo signalled readiness to deepen economic, political and security collaboration as part of a broader strategic partnership.
Abdelatty expressed condolences after recent terror attacks in Pakistan and reaffirmed Egypt’s solidarity, saying peace and stability would underpin the planned expansion in ties.
