Pakistan has strongly condemned the Houthi militia attack on the Taibah power distribution station in Madina, describing the incident as a grave provocation and a matter of deep concern for Muslims around the world. The Foreign Office issued the statement on Friday after the Saudi-led coalition reported that the power facility had been targeted a day earlier.

According to the statement, the power station supplies electricity to the Holy Prophet's Mosque, making the attack especially sensitive for Pakistan and the wider Muslim world. Islamabad said the sanctity of the Two Holy Mosques and the safety of pilgrims must be respected under all circumstances.

The Saudi-led coalition said the attack affected one transformer at the power distribution station but did not disrupt the wider power network. The coalition presented the incident as part of repeated Houthi attempts to threaten sites linked to the Two Holy Mosques and provoke Muslims internationally.

Pakistan called for an immediate and unconditional end to such actions, warning that attacks on civilian infrastructure and holy sites create serious risks for regional peace and security. The Foreign Office said reckless conduct of this nature could deepen instability in an already volatile region.

Islamabad also reaffirmed its solidarity with Saudi Arabia and expressed support for the kingdom's sovereignty, territorial integrity and security. The statement said Pakistan stands with Saudi Arabia in its efforts to protect the Two Holy Mosques, safeguard its people and ensure the safety of pilgrims.

The latest condemnation follows earlier Saudi claims that a Houthi drone had been intercepted south of Makkah before entering restricted airspace over the city. The coalition described that incident as another attempt to target a holy site, adding to regional concerns about the expansion of attacks beyond conventional military targets.

The coalition also said it had intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched toward Khamis Mushait in southern Saudi Arabia. No immediate details were provided about damage or casualties from that missile launch, while local officials also reported attacks involving missiles and drones in Aden.

For Pakistan, the incident carries diplomatic and religious significance because of its longstanding ties with Saudi Arabia and the central importance of the holy sites to Muslims. Islamabad said it would continue supporting efforts aimed at lasting peace and stability in the region, while urging an end to actions that endanger civilians and religious places.
