Hangu firefight kills eight militants, six security personnel martyred

Eight militants were killed and six security personnel were martyred during an intense exchange of fire in Hangu district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Sunday, according to an official military statement. The military said eight militants were killed during the encounter. It described those involved as members of the group officially referred to by the state as Fitna-al-Khwarij and alleged that they were backed from outside Pakistan.
