Govt Invites PPP to Join Cabinet as Bilawal Tipped for Key Role

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has invited the Pakistan Peoples Party to formally join the cabinet, with PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari being considered for a key ministry, according to sources cited in a latest political development on Thursday.

The move comes as the ruling arrangement enters an important phase after months of coalition management, budget negotiations and pressure over governance delivery. If the PPP accepts the offer, it would mark a deeper role for the party in the federal administration rather than remaining primarily a parliamentary supporter of the government.

Sources indicated that a cabinet reshuffle is expected after the approval of Budget 2026-27, with several new faces likely to be brought into the federal team.
