PPP Candidate Leads GBA-11 Kharmang in Unofficial GB Results

The political contest in Gilgit-Baltistan’s GBA-11 Kharmang constituency moved into a decisive phase as unofficial election figures showed Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Iqbal Hussain ahead during the vote count. The results, reported as preliminary and unverified, emerged after polling across the mountainous region concluded under tight security arrangements.

According to the unofficial count from 45 of 50 polling stations, Iqbal Hussain had secured 6,141 votes, placing him in a strong position in the constituency. Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz candidate Syed Mohsin Rizvi was reported in second place with 4,170 votes, leaving the remaining polling stations important but unlikely to be ignored in the final assessment.

The GBA-11 race has drawn attention because Gilgit-Baltistan elections often reflect wider political alignments between national parties and local power structures.
