Lahore Police Register Case Against TikToker Nadeem Naniwala

A case has been registered in Lahore against TikToker Nadeem Mubarak, widely known online as Nadeem Naniwala, after an alleged traffic-related confrontation in the Defence C area. The development has quickly drawn public attention because of the influencer’s large online following and the wider debate over road discipline, celebrity conduct and equal enforcement of the law.

According to the reported FIR, the incident began when traffic personnel signalled a luxury vehicle to stop. The vehicle was allegedly using an “Applied For” registration plate, a common practice under scrutiny by traffic authorities during their ongoing campaign against unregistered, improperly marked and non-standard vehicles.

The police version states that instead of complying with the signal, the driver allegedly moved onto a one-way street. The matter then escalated into a criminal case involving accusations of rash or negligent driving, obstruction of official duties and alleged intimidation or assault linked to a public servant performing official work.

The case has reportedly been registered under Sections 279, 186 and 189 of the Pakistan Penal Code. These provisions broadly deal with negligent driving, interference in the work of public servants and threats or pressure against officials, though the allegations will have to be tested through the legal process.

Officials linked the case to Lahore’s broader traffic enforcement drive, saying action is being taken against vehicles without proper number plates, vehicles displaying “Applied For” plates and vehicles carrying fancy or non-standard registration plates. Authorities have signalled that they intend to continue the crackdown without giving special treatment to public figures or social media personalities.

Nadeem Naniwala’s name made the story especially visible across online platforms, where influencer-related legal cases often turn into viral debates. Supporters, critics and casual viewers frequently react quickly to such developments, but the formal matter remains a police case in which the accused has the right to legal defence and due process.
