Aleema Denies Rumoured Imran Meeting With Ex-Army Chief

Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, has rejected circulating claims that the former prime minister met a former army chief inside Adiala jail, calling the reports completely false. Her statement on Monday came after social media speculation over the weekend triggered fresh political debate around Imran’s jail access and possible backchannel contacts.

According to the report, Aleema said the claims being shared online had no basis and were also checked with PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan. She maintained that Gohar had confirmed the same position, dismissing the alleged meeting as fabricated information rather than a verified political development.

Aleema argued that the rumour was designed to divert attention from what the family describes as Imran Khan’s worsening isolation in prison. She said the former premier had not been given the level of contact, medical access and personal facilities that his family believes are protected under law and court orders.

In her public response, she raised concerns over Imran’s eye treatment, his inability to speak with his sons and restrictions on receiving books or access to television in his cell. She also claimed that his contact with the outside world had been severely limited in recent months, apart from lawyer visits arranged through court directions.

The statement is significant because any suggestion of a meeting between Imran Khan and a former military chief immediately carries major political weight in Pakistan.
