Khawaja Asif Warns India Against Any Future Aggression

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has praised Pakistan’s armed forces for what he described as their swift and decisive response during Marka-e-Haq, while warning that any future aggression against the country would face an even stronger reply. His remarks were delivered at the launch of a commemorative picture book titled The Battle of Truth, jointly produced by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and the Inter-Services Public Relations.

The ceremony placed renewed focus on Pakistan’s security posture, national unity and the state’s official account of recent tensions with India. Asif said the armed forces had acted with professionalism and resolve, adding that the country had emerged more stable and confident after confronting external pressure.

According to the defence minister, Pakistan remains fully prepared for any form of hostility, including what he termed an Indian proxy war. He said the armed forces had frustrated India’s plans during Marka-e-Haq and claimed that Pakistan had neutralised key Indian military capabilities during the confrontation.

Asif told the gathering that the nation stood firmly behind its military institutions. He said Pakistanis, despite political, regional and social differences, had repeatedly shown unity in moments of national challenge and had formed what he called a steel-like wall against external threats.

The defence minister also linked the episode to earlier Pakistan-India confrontations, including the 2019 Pulwama crisis. He argued that India had repeatedly used military pressure to distract from internal challenges, while Pakistan had responded with restraint and clarity whenever its sovereignty was threatened.

Beyond the immediate security message, Asif framed Pakistan’s position as one of regional responsibility. He said the country had consistently supported peace, participated in United Nations peacekeeping missions and pursued diplomatic engagement while maintaining the right to defend its territorial integrity.

The launch of The Battle of Truth comes at a time when official narratives around national defence, sovereignty and regional stability are receiving renewed public attention. The event also highlighted the role of information campaigns in shaping public understanding of security developments and military preparedness.

For Pakistan, the defence minister’s remarks carry both domestic and regional significance. Domestically, they reinforce the government’s emphasis on unity and institutional confidence, while regionally they signal that Islamabad intends to project deterrence alongside a stated commitment to peace.

The next steps will depend on how regional tensions evolve and whether diplomatic channels can reduce the risk of fresh escalation.
