Pakistan hosts key regional talks on Middle East tensions

Pakistan is hosting a high-level quadrilateral meeting in Islamabad with the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, Turkiye and Egypt as part of a diplomatic push to reduce tensions linked to the widening Middle East conflict.

Geo News reported that Islamabad has taken on an increasingly active intermediary role, helping relay messages between Iran and the United States while working with regional partners to create space for de-escalation. Turkish and Egyptian foreign ministers have already arrived, while Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud is scheduled to join the talks.

The discussions are expected to cover the regional security environment, efforts to lower hostilities and broader diplomatic coordination. Pakistani officials say the meeting also reflects Islamabad's attempt to position itself as a facilitator for dialogue at a moment of rising instability across the region.
