Pakistan offers to host US-Iran peace talks, says PM Shehbaz

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif says Pakistan is ready to host talks between the United States and Iran if both sides agree, presenting Islamabad as a willing venue for diplomacy aimed at ending the ongoing Middle East conflict. He said Pakistan supports dialogue and would be honoured to facilitate meaningful negotiations toward a comprehensive settlement.

The statement follows reports of back-channel contacts involving Pakistani officials and comes after Washington signalled interest in a diplomatic track. Geo News reported that the White House also confirmed a recent call between US President Donald Trump and Field Marshal Asim Munir.

Pakistan's Foreign Office has maintained that the country is prepared to host negotiations if the parties consent. The development places Islamabad at the centre of a high-stakes mediation effort as regional tensions continue to shape global politics and markets.
