Pakistan's Foreign Office has strongly rejected India's criticism of Islamabad's counterterror operations inside Afghanistan, calling New Delhi's remarks absurd, unwarranted and deeply hypocritical. Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said Pakistan's actions targeted terrorist hideouts and support bases and were carried out in line with the country's right to self-defence.
The spokesperson accused India of long-standing involvement in backing militant activity from Afghan soil and said New Delhi had no standing to question Pakistan's security response. He further alleged that India had repeatedly violated international law and human rights, particularly in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Islamabad also reaffirmed that it would continue to take appropriate measures to protect its citizens in accordance with international law and the UN Charter. The statement signals that Pakistan is unlikely to soften its posture as border-linked security tensions remain high.
