Punjab DSP held over Rs33.3m luxury car fraud case

Punjab Police have taken a serving deputy superintendent of police into custody after a fraud case involving more than Rs33.3 million was registered in Lahore.

Investigators say the officer, identified as DSP Azhar Naveed, is accused of obtaining money from a citizen on the promise of arranging two luxury vehicles. According to the complaint, the full payment was transferred, but the vehicles were never delivered.

Police said a formal case has been lodged at Defence B Police Station against the officer and his son, Nail Azhar. Authorities are now reviewing financial records, communication between the parties and the wider circumstances of the transaction to determine whether the money was secured through deliberate deception.

Officials added that the inquiry is continuing and may establish whether other individuals played a role in facilitating the alleged deal.
