Pakistan pushes diplomacy amid widening Middle East crisis

Pakistan says its response to the escalating Middle East conflict is rooted in international law, respect for sovereignty and a consistent call for dialogue over force. Officials say Islamabad is maintaining communication with multiple regional capitals while trying to support de-escalation.

During the Foreign Office briefing, Pakistan condemned attacks on Iran while also criticising strikes launched from Iran against Gulf countries. The government presented its position as balanced and principle-driven, arguing that diplomacy and restraint remain the only viable path to regional stability.

Officials also highlighted Pakistan’s ongoing high-level engagement with Iran, Saudi Arabia, Oman and other Gulf states. Islamabad says this network of contact allows it to serve as a communication channel at a time of deepening tensions across the region.
