The Pakistani rupee ended Tuesday almost unchanged against the US dollar, extending its streak of relative stability in that market. It closed at 279.36 against the dollar after gaining marginally during the session.

Against other major currencies, however, the rupee came under pressure. It lost ground versus the euro and the British pound and also weakened against several other currencies, including the Australian dollar.

Market data cited by the report showed the largest notable losses on the day came against the pound and the euro, underscoring that the rupee’s resilience against the dollar did not translate into broad-based strength across the foreign exchange market.
