The Federal Directorate of Education has ordered all institutions under its control to remain closed from March 16 to March 31, 2026, as part of austerity and fuel-conservation steps communicated through the Cabinet Division.
The closure applies to schools, colleges and other FDE-run institutions. However, examination-related work will continue under already approved schedules, including the conduct of exams, checking of answer scripts and preparation of results.
The directive also states that BS programme classes will shift to a fully online mode with immediate effect and will continue that way until further instructions are issued.
