Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mohammad Sohail Afridi has launched the province’s first Livestock Management Information System (LMIS), aimed at improving transparency, service delivery, and digital governance across the livestock sector.
At the inauguration, the chief minister described livestock as a key pillar of the rural economy and said better, real-time data is essential for evidence-based planning. The initiative is designed to move the sector away from fragmented, manual recordkeeping toward a centralized digital framework.
According to project details shared at the event, LMIS will connect farmers, field units, veterinary facilities, mobile clinics, and research bodies, while digitizing services such as vaccinations, treatments, artificial insemination, inspections, and advisory visits. The system also includes disease surveillance and laboratory information management to strengthen monitoring and response capabilities.
