KARACHI: The 17th Karachi Literature Festival (KLF) will be held from February 6 to 8, 2026, under the theme “Literature in a Fragile World,” with organisers framing the event as a forum for ideas, storytelling and debate during a period of social and cultural uncertainty.
The festival, organised by Oxford University Press Pakistan, will remain free and open to the public. Organisers say the programme will explore how literature, poetry and critical thought respond to rapidly shifting political, social and cultural realities, and how writing can cultivate empathy and resilience.
According to the announced plan, the three-day festival will host more than 200 delegates from eight countries. The schedule includes over 90 sessions, 28 book launches across three languages, along with two documentaries and two feature films.
Keynote speakers named for this year include Senator Sherry Rehman, Mohammed Hanif, Nasir Abbas Nayyar and Khurshid Rizvi. The broader lineup features writers, poets, critics and thinkers from Pakistan and abroad, including filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, known for award-winning documentary work and international projects.
