Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has departed for Switzerland to lead a high-level Pakistani delegation to the World Economic Forum’s annual meeting in Davos-Klosters, scheduled from January 20 to 22, 2026.

According to Pakistan’s Foreign Office, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar and other senior officials are accompanying the prime minister.

The Foreign Office said the prime minister is set to take part in multiple engagements during the forum, including an Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL) session focused on rebuilding dialogue in a divided global environment.

Pakistan is also expected to convene a Pakistan-focused business roundtable with corporate leaders, aimed at presenting economic priorities and investment opportunities.

Officials said the prime minister will meet world leaders and business executives on the sidelines and use the platform to outline Pakistan’s stance on regional and global peace, development and cooperation.

The WEF annual meeting brings together political leaders, heads of international organisations, business figures and civil society representatives to discuss major geopolitical, economic, social and environmental challenges.
