The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced it will auction premium vehicle number plates carrying the names of prominent political and national figures, including PTI founder Imran Khan, President Asif Ali Zardari, and former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

Provincial Excise and Taxation Minister Syed Fakhar Jehan said plates featuring the names of PPP founder Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz will also be offered. He added that the first phase of the initiative will include plates such as “Imran Khan-804” and “Imran Khan-1.”

According to a departmental advertisement cited in the report, the first-phase auction is scheduled for January 27 at Nishtar Hall in Peshawar. The same auction will also include plates bearing various caste names, including Afridi, Gandapur, Durrani, Kundi, Yousufzai, Mahsood, and Khattak.

Applicants can submit requests through the Dastak app, with January 26, 2026, set as the deadline for applications. The minister said bidding will begin at Rs1 million, and plates will be awarded to the highest bidders.

Officials said the plan is drawing significant public interest and is expected to raise notable revenue for the public exchequer.
