Bestselling author Colleen Hoover has disclosed that she has been undergoing cancer treatment, sharing that the disease was removed surgically and that she is now completing radiation therapy.

The 46-year-old writer, known for titles including It Ends With Us and Regretting You, reportedly informed close contacts about her diagnosis in December 2025 through a private Facebook message after returning from Canada, where she had been involved with filming linked to Reminders of Him.

Hoover said the cancer was successfully removed via surgery and that she has been finishing a course of radiation. She did not publicly specify the cancer type. In a recent social-media update, she described nearing the end of treatment and expressed gratitude for her care team.

She also noted that she does not have a family history of cancer and said her case was not connected to factors such as family genetics, HPV, or hormonal issues. Instead, she suggested lifestyle pressures—such as prolonged stress, diet, and limited exercise—could have played a role.

Hoover added that she feels thankful to be alive. The report also pointed to earlier signs of health struggles in late 2025, when she missed multiple appearances, including an event tied to Regretting You.
