Ashley Tisdale’s widely discussed essay about leaving a “toxic” celebrity mom circle has gained an unexpected twist after a separate detail from her past resurfaced — a notable real-estate transaction involving a member of the Duff family.

US media reports highlighted that Tisdale — now professionally credited as Ashley Tisdale French — sold her Studio City, Los Angeles-area home in 2016 for about $2.7 million, not long after buying it for roughly $2.5 million. The buyer was reported to be Haylie Duff, sister of Hilary Duff.

The five-bedroom, six-bathroom Cape Cod-style property was described as having high-end features including a pool and a home theatre. It later changed hands again in 2019 for around $3.1 million.

The renewed attention comes as Tisdale’s anonymous account, published in New York Magazine’s The Cut, sparked online guessing about who may have been part of the unnamed “mom group.” Fans speculated about several well-known entertainers, but Tisdale’s representative has maintained that the piece did not identify specific individuals.

In the essay, she described stepping away from a circle that once offered support but eventually felt socially fraught and unproductive, prompting her to move on.
