Chief of Defence Forces and Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir cautioned that any future Indian aggression would draw a swifter and more forceful reply from Pakistan, as he addressed officers after a guard-of-honour ceremony at GHQ.

He said the newly established Defence Forces Headquarters would integrate joint operations across the army, air force and navy while preserving each service’s individuality, arguing the change is necessary to meet evolving threats from cyberspace to the electromagnetic spectrum.

On Afghanistan, he said the Taliban administration must choose between violent extremists and constructive ties with Pakistan, reiterating that Islamabad seeks peace but will not compromise on sovereignty.
