Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah warned that the Pakistan Peoples Party would oppose any proposal under a prospective 28th constitutional amendment that undermines Pakistan's interests or Sindh’s rights. Speaking to reporters in Sehwan, he urged people not to panic over talk of creating new provinces, saying the party would address the matter only once a concrete draft is tabled.
Responding to political speculation, the chief minister reiterated that the appointment of a governor is the prerogative of the prime minister and the president. He also recalled that PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari has already rejected attempts to dilute the 18th Amendment or reduce provincial shares under the NFC Award.
Murad maintained that the party’s focus remains on protecting Sindh’s cultural and economic interests, adding that the PPP knows how to convert its development vision into tangible results.
