Inter-Services Public Relations Director General Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry alleged that Afghan forces fire on Pakistani posts to create openings for militants to slip across the border. Speaking with senior journalists, he argued that fences alone cannot stop infiltration without drones, fortified posts and significant investment.
He said national security would take precedence over commerce with Afghanistan, stressing that “blood and business cannot go together.” Rejecting any distinction between “good” and “bad” militants, he added that Pakistan views all terrorists alike.
According to the ISPR DG, security forces have conducted more than 67,000 intelligence-based operations in 2025, killing 1,873 militants, including 136 Afghans. He also cited the repatriation of over 971,000 Afghan nationals this year and outlined governance gaps in border regions that enable smuggling and crime. On Balochistan, he said police jurisdiction now covers most of the population, with dozens of development projects completed. He further criticised recent rhetoric by India’s army leadership, calling it exaggerated and aimed at domestic audiences.
