PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari said Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and a PML-N delegation asked his party to support a 27th Constitutional Amendment that proposes creating a Constitutional Court. In a post on X, Bilawal said the package also includes reviving executive magistrates, enabling transfers of judges, revising Article 243 on the armed forces, and removing protections related to provincial shares in the NFC Award.
Bilawal added that the proposals seek to return education and population planning to the federal domain and to resolve the deadlock over appointments to the Election Commission of Pakistan. He said the PPP's Central Executive Committee would meet on November 6, after President Asif Ali Zardari's return from Doha, to finalise the party's stance.
