A Rawalpindi anti-terrorism court on Friday ordered the confiscation of the computerised national identity card and passport of Aleema Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, for repeatedly skipping proceedings in a case tied to the November 26 protest last year. Presided over by ATC Judge Amjad Ali Shah, the court also directed authorities to freeze her bank accounts and issued instructions to NADRA and the immigration department for implementing the orders.
The case relates to FIRs registered after clashes erupted near D-Chowk when PTI supporters entered Islamabad despite a ban on public gatherings. The court noted Aleema Khan’s continued absence from hearings and ordered the confiscation of property belonging to her guarantor. Special prosecutor Zaheer Shah and several other accused were present, while no lawyer represented Aleema at Friday’s hearing. The matter was adjourned until October 27. In a separate case in Lahore, an ATC extended interim bail for Aleema and Uzma Khan until December 5 in a matter linked to an alleged attack on police during an October 5 protest.
