Pakistan condemned a draft move in Israel’s parliament seeking to extend so-called sovereignty over swathes of the occupied West Bank, calling it a clear violation of international law and relevant UN Security Council resolutions. In a statement, the Foreign Office said such steps are provocative and unlawful, and it urged coordinated international action to halt the initiative.
Reaffirming its long-standing position, Islamabad reiterated support for an independent State of Palestine based on pre-1967 borders with Al-Quds Al-Sharif as the capital. The ministry warned that annexation efforts would further destabilise the region and undercut prospects for a sustainable peace.
Reports from the Knesset said preliminary votes advanced two bills — one to annex Maale Adumim and another that would extend annexation to the entire West Bank.
