Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi approved the immediate transfer of bulletproof vehicles—originally provided to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police—to the Balochistan government after KP declined to accept them. The move came in response to a public request from Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti on X, who asked that the vehicles be rerouted if KP would not use them.
Naqvi said the vehicles would bolster counter-terrorism operations in Balochistan. The decision followed remarks by KP Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, who called the vehicles “substandard and outdated” and announced they would be returned to the federal government. He also directed that security for former chief ministers be restored.
