Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Sunday left for Malaysia on a three-day official visit, undertaken at the invitation of his counterpart Anwar Ibrahim. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the premier is accompanied by a high-level delegation that includes Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, federal ministers and senior officials.
Ahead of departure, Shehbaz said he looked forward to a comprehensive exchange of views with the Malaysian leadership. In a post on X, he expressed confidence that ties would continue to flourish through expanded economic and strategic engagement.
The Foreign Office said the two prime ministers will hold bilateral talks covering regional and global developments. Both sides will also explore avenues to enhance cooperation in trade, information technology, telecom, the halal industry, investment, education, energy, infrastructure, the digital economy and people-to-people exchanges.
Officials added the leaders are expected to witness the signing of agreements and memoranda of understanding in several sectors. Islamabad described the visit as underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening a longstanding partnership with Malaysia and advancing shared interests.
